While you were working, we were at the World Kite Museum

The gift shop was nice, lots of kites, books about kites, kite repair kits, kite building kits, kite stickers, kite magnets. If you need anything to do with kites, this place has it packed into a 15 x 20 room in Long Beach, WA. Admission was a little steep, and we could see that the exhibits weren't enticing enough. So we settled for a small "sled" kite with a penguin on it. We took it outside and helped a flightless bird attain flight. It didn't go very high. A local helped us out with some tricks to get it to go higher, which did help, but I'm convinced the penguin just wasn't ready.




Meanwhile down the street from the World Kite Museum was a moped/scooter rental shop. One intrepid moped enthusiast decided it would be a good idea to ride a her rental out onto the beach. Hilarity ensued. Sand flew everywhere, and I'm sure she received a hefty fine when it was returned.
